SEO Tactics

In order to get the pages you want about yourself up to the top of Google, staff at Reputation SE have a deep knowledge of SEO and ranking quickly for low competition keywords. As many people now know, SEO have become increasingly harder over the years, and ‘blackhat’ methods (ie. spam) have decreased in effectiveness. While the trend is consistently leaning towards needing to have good quality content and natural inbound links, the fact remains that the old-school fundamental tactics (like onpage optimization and slow link building from quality sources) still remain very effective when done properly.

As our client, you’re entitled to know exactly how we get your positive pages about yourself highly visible in search engines.

On-page SEO Tactics Easy Reputation Management May Employ:

For your project, it is our responsibility to create pages exactly the way you want about yourself. We will optimize these pages so that they have the maximum chance of ranking in Google. This includes having a good title tag, header <h1> tag, and 1-2% keyword density – the rest just takes care of itself. For some pages we create about you on sites we don’t own (eg. squidoo, twitter, linkedin) we have less control on what we can publish, but can still create a highly optimized page with quality content that is likely to rank well.

You’ll notice that many SEO firms try to use a lot of jargon and complicated language to describe on-page optimization, but all it comes down to are header tags, meta tags, URL, keyword density and formatting – the rest just takes care of itself.

Off-page SEO Tactics Easy Reputation Management May Employ (linking):

  • Forum posting on sites with do-follow links
  • Some light directory submission
  • Social bookmarking – especially creating positive profiles of yourself and ranking them
  • Reciprocal, and 3way linking (using some of the services and membership sites we are a member of)
  • The use of SEO tools and memberships like LinkVana and TrafficKahuna
  • Posting stories on pligg enabled websites

Forum posting:

Posting on relevant forums, or forums that are crawled frequently by Google spiders is a very good way of generating content that will rank well. We do NOT use automated forum software like Xrumer – rather, this is done by hand, and we take great care in making sure that what we publish is what you want to appear. We do not generally use forums for linking and backlink building. As forums are controlled by a third party that controls the board, and content published is dynamic and easily removed, it’s not a good idea to use forums for linking; they are, however, useful platforms to publish content that is deemed as authoritive by Google.

Directory Submission:

Submitting pages and websites to web directories is useful for initial indexing. For this, we use Directory Submitter by Brad Callen, although this is generally done in moderation (too many links at once can be detrimental). It is also generally accepted that directory submission is less effective than it was several years ago, and our own tests confirm this, so we only do it in conjunction with other tactics.

Social Bookmarking:

Social Bookmarking – the practice of utilizing web 2.0 properties for content and backlinks – is extremely effective. For almost all projects, we will post content on networks such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, MySpace, Digg and more. Aside from being powerful content publishing tools, many web 2.0 sites rank very well in search engines, so any pages you create on them will be indexed and ranked much faster than a brand new domain. The key is to make non-spammy messages and fly under the radar. With years of experience (not to sound immodest here) we are able to do this very well.

Reciprocal And 3WayLinking:

Typically used for ongoing and larger projects, reciprocal linking is where site A links to site B, and site B links to site A. Nowadays, this is less effective than it used to be (Google’s algorithm now picks up on this and deems it un-natural), so we don’t do too much of it. What is incredibly powerful, however, is 3WayLinking, where site A links to site B, site B links to site C, and site C links to site A. Clean Bad Reputation is a member of and we will often use this service for backlink building in order to promote and increase the ranking of positive pages we create for you.

SEO Tools (TrafficKahuna/Linkvana):

We can’t take all the credit for the amazing results we achieve for clients. We are a member of many exclusive SEO memberships and services, and although they may be expensive, they do produce results. Two of the most obvious are and, which are blog syndication networks where you can submit unique content (with a link back to your website) to go out to a number of high PR, highly authoritive blogs; this is then picked up in Google very quickly and you will see a lot of the stuff we create rising to the top of the search engines. We are a member of other services also, which we have agreed not to reveal here.

Pligg Stories:

Often used for reputation management cases, this is an extremely quick, brutal and agressive way of getting a lot of positive pages up to the top of search engines quick (pligg is a social news story script that powers millions of sites around the web). This method, apart from creating content that shows in Google, is also used for backlink building.

In almost all cases, we will try to use a combination of the above to rank your pages.
